This planet is similar to
(e.g. Venus) because...
Mars because, they are both Terrestrial planets.Saturn is similar to Jupiter because they are both bigger then earth.Jupiter is the same as Saturn because being so far away from the sun they are both cold planets. This planet is a similar size to Earth.
This planet is different compared to (e.g. Neptune) because...Jupiter is different compared to Earth because, of the size. Jupiter is way bigger compared to Earth.Uranus because, Uranus does not have any rings.
Saturn because, Saturn has rings and Jupiter doesn’t have any rings.Uranus because it is the coldest planet and Venus is the hottest one.

5 - 8 interesting facts about this planet:

* Earth is the only planet that has life forms.
* 5th largest planet in our Solar System
* Earth is a similar size to Mercury.
* Earths moon is named Luna.
*Saturn can float on water
*It is made out of light gases
* Saturn is a flattened ball
* Saturn is the least dense planet in the Solar System
* Sometimes the rings disappear
*It is the biggest planet in our Solar System
* Jupiter is known as Zeus in Greek mythology.
* There are 3 rings on Jupiter. They are named Gossamer, Main and Halo
* Jupiter is the fastest spinning planet in the Solar System
*The Clouds on Jupiter are only 50 km thick.
*2nd planet closest to the sun
* Venus rotates backwards compared to the other planets
* Venus rotates backwards compared to the other planets
* Venus can be so bright it casts shadows
* Venus and Earth are both similar size
Explain why life is possible or not possible on this planet:

Yes, because there is oxygenNo because it would be like living in clouds and you’ll be breathing hydrogen gas.No, because it would make it difficult and dangerous to move around.
No, because it is so hot you could get burnt or dehydrated.

AFL (aussie rules)

My first favourite highlight of term 3 was AFL (Aussie rules). AFL was when we went on the courts and Michael and Lucy the AFL people taught us many techniques like the High mark, Speckie, Handball and much more. AFL was one of my favourite highlights because I loved doing sports and learning new skills.

My other favourite highlight was Cross country. Cross country was an event that our school did every year. Last year we did cross country in age groups, but this year it was different. The year 7&8’s did cross country on our own, we had to run 3,5km but the year 7’s only had to run 3km’s. When we did cross country the year 7’s girls followed by the year 7 boys and so on. Cross country was one of my highlights because I enjoy running and because I came 3rd.

Last but not least my third favourite highlight, Silly sports day. The whole of Team 5 (year 7&8’s and teachers) had Silly sports day on the bottom field. The teachers had entertaining games planned for us like Ball tiggy, Slingshots, two legged spoon race and the Sponge race. Our first activity was with our own teacher then we moved to the next activity. The part that I enjoyed the most was sponge because I got a little wet.

This term was probably the second best term that I had enjoyed but I can’t wait until term 4 because of the year 8 camp and lots more entertaining things. I hope we do something similar to sill sports day in Term 4.

Silly Sports Day

It was a warm luminous day and team 5 students and teachers (Mrs Nua, Mrs Lagitupu, Ms Tito and Mr Harris) had silly sports day at school on the bottom field. Every teacher had exciting games planned for us like slingshots, ball tiggy, two legged spoon race and sponge and water games. Each game was about 10 minutes long.

Each classes first activity was with their own teacher. We played ball tiggy. There were four group colours, Red, Green, Yellow and Blue, I was in the Blue team. Now the fun begun. My group challenged the green team, and the other 2 teams challenged each other. The aim of the game was to communicate to try and get the other group members out. The game was king of like netball but a little different.

The next group that we went to was Ms Tito, slingshots. We had to choose any kind of ball to try and get it to the targets (Hoops). We had to challenge the other classes to see how many balls we could get in to the target. It was quite difficult because sometimes the ball will just fall off the slingshot and onto the ground or would touch the target and roll away. We only got one ball into the target, so our results was only ten points.

Our third rotation was Mr Harris, two legged spoon race. We had to find a buddy and tie one leg of ours together and one of us had to hold the spoon with a tennis ball and walk all the way to the end and back with out dropping the ball.”Ready set go!” I started power walking suddenly......the ball rolled off the spoon. Mr Harris said if the ball rolled off the spoon you have to go back to to the start. I didn’t want to do it again so I just passed it to the other people waiting in line for a turn to go.

Last but not least was Mrs Nua, sponge and water. She split us into groups Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. We lined up in our groups and waited for Mrs Nua to tell us that we could start. “Go!” said Mrs Nua. The first person in the line pushed the sponge into the bucket full of water and passed it on to the next person. The last person had to squeeze all the water into the other bucket and run all the way in the front do the same thing until Mrs Nua said stop.

Oh,what a day, I had so much fun I hope we do it again. My favourite highlight of the day was Mrs Nua’s activity, sponge and water, because we got to get kind of wet and it was really hot.

Extremely nervous I sat down on the courts listening to Mr Burt instruct us on what was going to happen today.

On Wednesday 10th August the year 7&8 students had cross country. My class room 21 assembled into a line getting ready to go to the courts where we had to listen to Mr Burt talk to us about what was going to happen. I sat down extremely nervous because, it was a 3.5km run.

First was the year 7 girls then the year 7 boys, after them was us, the year 8 girls following by the Year 8 boys. I started getting butterflies as I approached the starting line. We waited for a few minutes until Ms Va'afusuaga said "Ready set go!"

We all ran as fast as we could. I could feel the mud flicking from the other girls feet onto my face. It made me really annoyed. I ran passed the first lot of cone up hills and across bridges. As I was running on the tracks my feet started hurting really bad. I had to stop a few times because my feet was hurting.

Oh finally I could see the finish line at school but I was still running around the reserve. I could see Etta and April already running towards the finish line. I ran past Ms S and she told me to keep on going I was nearly there. Oh, with a sigh I ran past my teacher across the park and up to the finishing line. I was so relieved that cross country was finished. The place that I came was 3rd I was so proud of myself for finishing.
